We’re thrilled to introduce you to our founder and lead designer, Nicole Stewart, whose creativity, heart, and unique perspective are the driving forces behind everything we do.
A Life Inspired by Design
Nicole’s journey in design began long before Jenness Interiors was officially founded in 2025. A natural-born creative with a gift for visual balance and harmony, Nicole was coloring within the lines at just two years old. As a self-taught designer, her eye for color, detail, and consistency has only sharpened with time, shaped by years of personal exploration, world travels, and life transitions across the country.
But what truly sets Nicole apart is how she blends artistry with problem-solving—a talent rooted in her experience as a twice-exceptional student. Diagnosed as both gifted and dyslexic, she developed the ability to think outside the box early on. This duality became her superpower, allowing her to approach design challenges with unmatched creativity and a deep sensitivity to her clients’ needs.
A Design Career Rooted in Love and Resilience
Nicole’s path has been anything but ordinary. After graduating high school with honors, she was selected as one of only 1,500 students to attend the prestigious Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising (FIDM) in Los Angeles, where she studied visual communications. Yet when her family needed her most, Nicole made the selfless choice to return to her small Colorado hometown—putting her budding design career on hold to be present for the people who mattered most.
She later married her high school sweetheart, started a family, and embarked on a journey that included multiple moves and new beginnings. Each chapter added depth to her story and shaped the designer she is today. Now based in Chattanooga, TN, with her youngest child in school, Nicole is embracing this new season with fresh eyes, a full heart, and an unwavering passion for design.
The Meaning Behind the Name
Jenness Interiors is more than a business—it’s a tribute. Named in honor of Nicole’s Grandmother and Great Grandmother, Jenness Interiors reflects her deep-rooted belief that family and home are inseparable. Every project we take on is grounded in that same spirit—designing with purpose, heart, and the intention of making spaces that feel like home.
